Strengthening prevention and advancing continuous safety improvement were at the heart of SUMA's Safety Meeting, bringing together representatives from different areas of the organisation to review key safety indicators and share operational experience.

SUMA managed the clean-up operation for the 2026 Cortejo da Queima das Fitas in Coimbra, collecting around 14 tonnes of waste and deploying staff and machinery to support the event and ensure the area was restored to a clean condition once it had finished.

SUMA has once again been recognised as a Trusted Brand in the Environment Category, reinforcing the trust placed by the Portuguese public in a brand that delivers essential environmental services to communities every day.

Sessions aimed at service users, trainees and staff at the institution encouraged the sharing of knowledge on recycling and waste sorting, reinforcing SUMA’s commitment to raising environmental awareness and engaging with local communities.

The visit by Hugo Pereira, CEO of Mota-Engil Ambiente e Energia, to the Polima Service Center was marked by the presentation of SUMA’s new collection vehicles.
