SUMA was recognised at the Innovation Awards 2025, promoted by the Grupo Mota-Engil, with the project “SUMA Intelligent Collection Route Optimisation & Machine Learning”, developed in partnership with ME Global.

The 2025 edition featured 20 candidate projects, from which three winners were selected for their innovative approach and positive impact on the Group’s activities. SUMA’s project uses advanced machine learning models to optimise waste collection route management, delivering significant gains in operational efficiency, reducing consumption and associated emissions, and improving the environmental performance of services.

This recognition reinforces the role of technological innovation as a driver of transformation in waste management and highlights the importance of collaboration between teams and areas of expertise in creating sustainable solutions aligned with the operational and environmental challenges of the sector.
