The Mota-Engil Group is deeply saddened to announce that António Mota, the Group's long-standing leader who served as its chairman for more than 27 years, from 1995 to January 2023, passed away this morning in the city of Porto. Today we bid farewell to an extraordinary man, a visionary entrepreneur who leaves behind a unique legacy, known for his humanistic spirit and solidarity with society, and the mark he left on everyone who knew him.

During the summer of 2025, SUMA ensured the cleaning and maintenance of dozens of beaches from north to south of the country - from Caminha to Lagoa - complementing the provision of services with environmental awareness actions that involved thousands of vacationers.

SUMA's subsidiary in Brazil today unveiled its new website, designed to offer a more modern, intuitive, and accessible browsing experience for all users.

In 2025, SUMA was awarded the Environment Trust Mark label, reflecting Portuguese consumers' confidence in the quality and responsibility of its services. This recognition reinforces the company's commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

In partnership with the Municipality of Coimbra, SUMA ensured that public spaces were cleaned and sanitised during the most important moments of Queima das Fitas 2025, helping the city to experience the celebration in comfort, safety and well-being.

On 28 April, World Day for Safety and Health at Work, SUMA once again joined the Mota-Engil Group in the third edition of the Safety Global Stand Down, promoting moments of reflection and reinforcement of good safety practices.
